You can visit the Blacksmith to enchant or combine your character’s equipment so it becomes increasingly powerful. Upgrading the Blacksmith or researching Forging in your Guild Hall will increase the success rate for enchanting and combining your gear.
At the Blacksmith, you can use the enchanting tool to increase the power of your character’s equipment. To do so, select the enchanting tool at the Blacksmith, then select the gems you would like to use in the enchantment. You may use up to three gems in a single attempt, and every gem you use will help to increase the chance of a successful enchantment. Be careful, however, if an enchantment fails, it’s possible that it will downgrade by one level if below level 8 or possibly ALL levels if higher than that. To prevent this you can spend a small amount of gold to prevent downgrades but this is only advised once you have reached level 8 or higher since good and rare gems are abundant. All gems used will be consumed.
There are 4 types of gems:
|Type||Enchanting Level||Boss Fights||Gold/Ruby Cost|
|Good||1 to 5||Normal||3|
|Rare||6 to 10||Normal and Hard||10|
|Epic||11 to 15||Hard||80|
|Legendary||16 to 20||N/A||334 (Sale)|

You can use the combining tool at the Blacksmith to forge increasingly powerful equipment. To do so you must select at least two pieces of equipment, of the same name and rank. You can use up to four pieces of identically named and ranked equipment, regardless of enchantment levels, to increase the chance of a successful combination. If the combination fails, you will keep the piece of equipment with the highest enchantment level, and the rest will be consumed. If you are successful, all but one will be consumed anyways. The piece with the highest enchantment level will remain and retain its levels.
Using more items, upgrading the Blacksmith, and upgrading Forging Research at the Guild Hall will increase the chances of a successful upgrade.
When you first unlock this feature (at Blacksmith Level 3) you get 4 Elemental Armor (possibly random, not always armor) for free. Better have some empty backpack slot all the time!
Here is a chart telling what are your basic success rates using different amount of the same equipment:
